Sshhh,..The Game is on

Who could have asked for a better Monday Night Football opener than to have your fav team play?? Not me cause that is what I got...I was texting my mom during the game and she had the nerve to ask me "don't I have kids to watch?" Uh, yea on any other night that my Dolphins are not televised. Geez even my kids know that and that is why they dressed up in their Dolphins gear and then quietly paraded into their room (with the occasional running out to scream, Go Dolphins!) With me screaming "get out of the front of the t.v."
OK, so watching the Dolphins play is not usually my finest moment as a mother, but hey, don't we all have our thing? Now, I didn't say that was my only thing but it's a top of the list contender. Too bad they lost though, but I was sure proud of them they held up the Patriots for a large part of the game! Way to go guys. And to my kids I will see your art projects, your rehearsed dance, listen to the song you wrote, and check your homework tomorrow!!

And so it begins...

And so begins another soccer season! The summer is coming to a close and the real fun is beginning. This season I will have 2 of my kids playing soccer. That is 3 days a week for both of my girls, Awannas for all 3 kids, girl scouts, and karate twice a week for my son. Whew, I am exhausted just from typing it. Now I know why I took this semester off from school for myself. Fall is just so hectic. Oh goodness not mention the epic planning of my 6 (going on 21) year olds first slumber party for her birthday. Do you know how  much pressure is on me to make this party the best ever!?!? No, I am sure you don't but... let me just tell you how my sweet, cute, adorable, little princess expects this day to be talked about til high school. She wants a Justin Bieber theme and I am sure she is expecting things to be so phenomenal that she expects the Biebs himself to make an appearance. So on a 1 income household of 5 budget we are creating a fabulous illusion that this party is spectacular and that in itself is exhausting. Can I just take a ambien and somebody wake me when winter is here??

Mondays are Better when They're on Tuesday!!

So, having a nice 3 day weekend (where one of the days I literally stayed in my pj's all day) to re-coupe is really best for everybody. As my day started at 6am I was expecting the usual sibling fighting, yelling at the kids a hundred times to turn off the wii and complete their morning list, and having Madison (my oldest) follow me around the house all morning where I trip on her every time I turn around. BUT to my surprise the girls got up before I did and proceeded to start eating breakfast and getting ready. The day only got better from there. My youngest (my only boy) started his first day of pre-k where I got in a 2 mile walk while he was there. Homework went smoothly, the kids played together great while I got dinner done, and bedtime was perfectly quiet. And we finished off the day without one kid getting put into time-out!! Can it be? Was there something in the water today? Was it a shift in the universe? Or did the kids really just feel refreshed after a 3-day weekend? Whatever it was I will be praying for it to happen daily!!! OH!!! And my 1st grader got the 1st grade word whiz award being the first kid in her class to complete the first 6 Fry's reading lists which is 120 words (she knows all 12 lists 240 words but the teacher only tested her on the first 6) and she got a cool Dog Tag to wear proudly!!!

Cherry Poppin

Well, this is the first time I have ever "blogged." I am not even sure exactly what to do or how to start. I guess I will start off talking about myself..bleh, like that's ever fun!!
I am 29 years old born and raised in Las Vegas, married for 7 years and mother of 3. When thinking of what to blog about I was contemplating blogging about being the mother of a child with autism and the struggles we face with this. But in thinking about it truly it is a struggle with all 3 of my kids not just the one I have with autism. She is my oldest and she is 11 years old. It is so hard to have a child with a disability be your oldest child. She is almost 5 years older than her sister and 8 years older than her brother. I mean how do you explain to your two younger children why their older sister is so different. I guess that will be the theme of my blogs....
